  • Method:
        1. Roll brown clay into sheets of 3mm thickness with Makin's Roller. Cut one 55mm x 25mm, two 22mm x 10mm and two 50mm x 25mm with Makin's Mallet. For 50mm x 25mm rectangle, cut out 7mm x 3mm strip from the middle edge along the longer side with Makin's Mallet and Rasp. Texture with Makin's Chisel.
      2. Place 55mm x 25mm rectangle at bottom with textured surface facing downwards. Attach rectangles as shown in photo with all textured surfaces facing outwards. When dry, drill a hole with wire clip into upper left hand corner.
        3. Roll Light brown clay into a 2mm sheet and cut into a 17mm x 10mm rectangle for a brand plate. Use Makin's Mallet write name and stick onto table. Roll rope with yellow clay, attach to brand plate, and tuck ends of rope into brand plate.
        4. Cut 30mm x 15mm rectangle from a 4mm thick white clay sheet for inner pages. Mark pages with Makin's Rasp.
      5. Roll 1mm thin sheets of desired colors for book covers. Place pages on top of sheet and mark edges, then cut with Makin's Rollers and Cutters. Wrap inner pages and engrave book titles with Makin's Chisel. Repeat to make a few books.
        6. Roll white clay into a blunt teardrop shape for body of pigeon. Sculpt into a comma shape; flatten sides and top for wings and head.
        7. Roll white clay into teardrop then flatten for tail of pigeon. Texture with Makin's Mallet.
        8. Roll white clay into teardrops and flatten for wings of pigeon. Texture with Makin's Mallet.
        9. Roll white clay into ball to make head of pigeon then attach a small yellow clay cone as beak. Assemble and fix pieces with glue.
        10. Roll black clay into an egg shape and shape into a hat. Flatten large end of egg and cut the narrower end so the height of the hat is approximately 15mm.
      11. Roll black clay into ball and press flat to form brim. Place onto flat end of hat and push into center with clay pusher. Roll white clay into a rope and press onto the connecting part of hat and brim. Stick pigeon on top of hat.
      12. Mix white and light blue clay together unevenly into a ground 70mm x 40mm. Texture with brush. Assemble items onto the ground. Paint with acrylics where desired.
